The community of Don Bosco Technical School, Maligaon, commemorated the first death anniversary of Late Rev. Fr. Augustine Edasserithttathil, SDB, with a solemn Holy Mass on March 5, 2026, praying for the repose of his soul. The Eucharistic celebration brought together confreres, companions, and members of the community who gathered in gratitude for the life and service of the late Salesian.
Six companions of the late Fr. Augustine Edasserithttathil were present for the Holy Mass, joining the community in remembering his life and offering prayers for his eternal rest.
The Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim, SDB, Vice Provincial. In his introductory remarks, Fr. Mukhim noted that the gathering was a moment of prayerful remembrance and gratitude for the life and sacrifice of Fr. Augustine Edasserithttathil. He invited the faithful to thank God for the gift of the late Salesian to the congregation and to the province.
During the Mass, Rev. Fr. Karottupuram Augustine, SDB, Rector of Don Bosco Technical School, presented a brief account of the life of Fr. Augustine Edasserithttathil and shared the final moments before his passing, recalling his dedication and commitment to the Salesian mission.
Reflecting on the Gospel of the day, Fr. Bivan R. Mukhim spoke about the contrast between the rich man and Lazarus. He remarked that unlike the rich man who ignored the suffering of Lazarus, Fr. Augustine Edasserithttathil was always deeply concerned for the poor and the needy. Having served in several communities across Assam and Meghalaya, he consistently showed compassion and care for those most in need. Fr. Mukhim invited the faithful to continue praying for the repose of his soul, expressing hope that Fr. Augustine would intercede for all before the Lord.
At the conclusion of the celebration, Fr. Karottupuram Augustine informed the gathering that the parishioners of Maligaon would offer a special Holy Mass on Friday in memory of the late Fr. Augustine Edasserithttathil, continuing the prayers for his eternal rest.
