The Chapel of St Theresa of the Child Jesus at Palasbari, under Doomni Parish, was solemnly blessed on Monday, 06 April 2026, in a prayerful and festive atmosphere. Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal, SDB, Provincial, presided over the blessing ceremony and dedicated the newly built chapel to the people of the village.
A good number of Salesian priests and Catholic faithful gathered for the occasion, marking it as a significant spiritual milestone for the local community. The Holy Mass and the blessing ceremony were attended with deep devotion and active participation.
In his address, Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal appreciated the efforts of the people in organizing the programme and for their dedicated presence. He remarked that the large gathering was a clear sign of their love for God and His house. Emphasizing the sacredness of the chapel, he urged the faithful to make it a true place of worship and to take collective responsibility in maintaining its cleanliness and dignity as a house of prayer.
Fr. Bhaskar Raj Chinthamalla, SDB, former Parish Priest of Doomni, welcomed the Provincial and the gathering at the beginning of the Eucharistic celebration. He recalled that the construction of the chapel began during his tenure as Parish Priest. Notably, this chapel is the seventeenth built under his leadership in Doomni Parish, reflecting his committed pastoral service and vision.
The solemn liturgical celebration was followed by a vibrant cultural programme, adding joy and festivity to the memorable occasion.
