On 29 July 2026, Bosco Reach Out organized a Career Guidance Programme on the theme “Discover Your Potential – Build Your Future” at Don Bosco Doomni in Baksa district, Assam. The programme brought together 485 participants, including students from Class VIII to postgraduate level, creating a vibrant platform for young people to explore educational and career opportunities.

The resource person, Fr. Ignatius Gari SDB, Executive Director of Bosco Reach Out, delivered an inspiring and practical session designed to help students make informed career choices. His presentation emphasized the importance of career guidance and self-awareness as the foundation for personal and professional success. He introduced participants to a wide range of opportunities available after Class X and Class XII, including higher education, emerging career fields, government employment, and vocational training that leads to sustainable livelihoods.

Fr. Gari also encouraged students to consider entrepreneurship as a pathway to self-reliance, highlighting the value of innovation and initiative. He stressed the importance of developing essential employability skills, digital literacy, effective communication, and workplace ethics to succeed in today’s competitive job market. The session further covered career planning strategies, common mistakes to avoid while choosing a career, and the opportunities available within Baksa district.

The programme concluded with a motivating message reminding students that their future is shaped by the choices they make today. A significant number of Class XII students expressed a keen interest in pursuing nursing courses, recognizing the profession as a promising career with opportunities for overseas employment. The interactive session inspired participants to dream bigger, plan wisely, and confidently work towards building a successful future.
