The book Journey of the Heart, authored by Rev. Fr. V. M. Thomas SDB, former Provincial of the Salesian Province of Guwahati, was formally released by Most Rev. Archbishop John Moolachira D.D., Archbishop of Guwahati, on the occasion of the Feast of St. Mary Mazzarello at St. Mary’s School, Guwahati Club, Guwahati on 13 May 2026.

The event witnessed the presence of several distinguished guests and members of the religious community, including Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal SDB, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Mary Help of Christians, Guwahati, Rev. Fr. George Thomas MSFS, Provincial of the MSFS Guwahati Province, along with priests, religious, educators, and well-wishers.

Speaking on the occasion, Archbishop John Moolachira congratulated Fr. V. M. Thomas for his remarkable literary contribution and appreciated his dedication to writing. Referring to the four books authored by Fr. Thomas within a span of a few years, the Archbishop expressed admiration for his zeal and creativity. He wished that all those who read Journey of the Heart would be inspired and enriched by its message and reflections.

The gathering also acknowledged the valuable contribution of Fr. V. M. Thomas to the Church and society through his writings and pastoral ministry. The Province congratulated Fr. Thomas on the release of his new book and expressed gratitude for his continued inspiration to the Salesian family.
