The Pre-Novitiate House, Dotma, organized a Bodo Singing Competition on 16 July 2026 with the objective of promoting and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Bodo community while fostering a deeper appreciation for the Bodo language among the pre-novices.
The programme was attended by Rev. Fr. Mackley Augustien Gomes, SDB, Director of the Pre-Novitiate House, Rev. Fr. Ajay Xaxa, SDB, Dean and Administrator, and the members of the pre-novitiate community, who gathered to witness the musical talents and cultural enthusiasm of the pre-novices.
The competition was conceived as an initiative to encourage the young Salesian aspirants to develop a love for the Bodo language, music, and cultural traditions. Through their performances, the participants showcased not only their singing abilities but also their appreciation for the rich artistic legacy of the Bodo people.
All the pre-novices enthusiastically participated in the competition, making the event a vibrant celebration of culture and fraternity. Their performances reflected dedication, confidence, and a growing sense of cultural identity.
At the conclusion of the programme, the winners were felicitated in recognition of their outstanding performances. The event ended on a joyful note, reinforcing the importance of preserving local languages and traditions while nurturing the holistic formation of the pre-novices.
