The Annual Sobha of St Dominic Savio Parish, Garobadha, which began with a solemn inauguration on 22 January 2026 in the Malchapara Circle, Garobadha came to a meaningful and prayerful conclusion on Monday, 26 January 2026. The concluding Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr Siby John SDB, Parish Priest of St Dominic Savio Parish, Garobadha, bringing together the faithful in thanksgiving for the blessings received during the days of the Sobha.

The Annual Sobha was formally inaugurated by Rev. Fr Threnius N. Sangma SDB, Rector and Principal of Don Bosco School, Tura. The inauguration marked the beginning of several days of spiritual reflection, prayer, and community participation, as parishioners from different villages of the parish gathered in large numbers to take part in the annual faith event.

The highlight of the Annual Sobha was the solemn Holy Mass celebrated on Sunday, 25 January 2026, by Bishop C. J. Jose D.D., Auxiliary Bishop of Tura. A large number of faithful participated in the Eucharistic celebration, making it a moment of deep spiritual significance for the parish community.

In his homily, Bishop C. J. Jose spoke about the importance of placing complete trust in the Lord. Reflecting on the Gospel invitation of Jesus to His disciples, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men,” the Bishop reminded the faithful that this call continues even today. He emphasized that every Christian is invited to follow Christ and become a minister of the Word and the Sacraments through their life and witness. Addressing those who received the Sacrament of Confirmation, the Bishop encouraged them to remain steadfast in their faith and to be attentive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit in their daily lives.

The Bishop also expressed his appreciation for the Parish Priests, the Salesian priests working in the parish, and the entire parish community for the disciplined, prayerful, and respectful manner in which they conducted themselves during the days of the Annual Sobha. He congratulated St Dominic Savio Parish, Garobadha, for the well-organized and faith-filled celebration.

On the same Sunday, the parish community took a moment to express their affection and gratitude to Rev. Fr Alex Kattakayam SDB, the former Parish Priest of the parish, on the occasion of his birthday. Special prayers and good wishes were offered for him during the celebrations.

Throughout the days of the Annual Sobha, a large number of Catholic faithful actively participated in the liturgical celebrations, prayers, and other spiritual activities.
