The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Rt Rev Bishop Thomas Pulloppillil, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Bongaigaon. In his homily, the Bishop called upon the faithful to remain rooted in Christ, to nurture unity within the parish community, and to live out their Christian vocation through active witness and service. Parish leaders and members expressed gratitude for the growth of the parish and reaffirmed their commitment to building a faith-filled and inclusive Church.

The highlight of the celebration took place on Sunday, 11 January 2026, with the Blessing and Dedication of the newly constructed St Peter’s Catholic Church at Niz Jhaparabari village. The Holy Mass and the church blessing ceremony were presided over by His Excellency Archbishop John Moolachera, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Guwahati. The ceremony was marked by deep reverence and joy as the faithful gathered in large numbers to witness this historic milestone in the life of the village and the parish.

In his message, Archbishop Moolachera emphasized that a church is not merely a structure of bricks and cement but a living house of God built upon the faith, prayers, and unity of the people. He encouraged the parishioners to make the new church a centre of worship, reconciliation, charity, and mission, where the values of the Gospel are lived and shared.

The blessing of the church was a profound moment of thanksgiving, symbolizing the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream of the people of Niz Jhaparabari. The faithful expressed deep gratitude to God for His providence and to all those who contributed through prayer, sacrifice, and hard work towards the completion of the church.
