The Pre-Novitiate community at Dotma commenced its Annual Retreat from March 15 to 19, 2026, offering the young aspirants a period of prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal. The retreat is being preached by Fr. Chittattukalam Kuriala, SDB, who is guiding the participants through meditations and conferences aimed at deepening their vocational commitment in the spirit of John Bosco.

The retreat began on the evening of March 15 with an opening talk followed by Eucharistic Adoration, setting a reflective tone for the days ahead. The schedule includes moments of silence, personal prayer, and spiritual conferences that help the candidates examine their lives and strengthen their relationship with Christ.

From March 16 to 18, the retreat follows a structured program beginning early in the morning with guided meditation and morning prayer. Each day features two spiritual talks by the retreat preacher, the celebration of the Holy Mass, time for personal reflection, the Rosary and Way of the Cross, and opportunities for confession and Eucharistic adoration. The program also balances spiritual activities with moments of rest and fraternity within the community.

The retreat will conclude on March 19 with a Solemn Holy Eucharistic Celebration, during which the pre-novices will submit their applications as part of their discernment journey. This significant step marks their continued preparation for the novitiate stage of religious formation within the Salesians of Don Bosco.
