Rev Bishop C.J. Jose, Auxiliary bishop of Tura along with the participants of the animation program at Mendal.

An inspiring one-day animation program was organised for the elderly men of the parish, bringing together participants from various villages for a time of spiritual renewal and fellowship on 08th August 2025. The event, held exclusively for men, commenced at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and concluded with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, officiated by Rt. Rev. Jose, Auxiliary Bishop of Tura.

A total of 120 men took part in the programme, which featured sessions designed to deepen faith, strengthen community bonds, and encourage active involvement in parish life. The highlight of the day was the solemn promise taken by 65 participants as they were formally inducted into the St. Joseph Sodality during the concluding Mass.

The animation sessions were led by Rev Fr. Lukas Marak SDB, Vice Rector and Assistant Parish Priest of Mendal; Fr. Salnes Sangma, Parish Priest of Bajengdoba; and Mr. Joachim Marak, Head Catechist of Bajengdoba. Their talks focused on the role of faith in daily life, the responsibility of Catholic men in building up the Church, and the example of St. Joseph as a model of devotion and service.

The program was marked by moments of prayer, reflection, and interactive sharing, leaving participants enriched in both spirit and fellowship. The organisers expressed their joy at the enthusiastic response and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing such initiatives for the spiritual growth of the parish community.
