The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) of Holy Cross Church, Rongkhon Parish, Tura, organised a three-day Youth Bible Camp from 17 to 19 October 2026 on the theme “Sastro-o Sakramentrangni Gamchatani” (The Importance of the Bible and the Seven Sacraments). The camp brought together 80 young people for prayer, faith formation, fellowship, and spiritual renewal.
The camp aimed to deepen the participants’ faith in Jesus Christ and help them understand the importance of the Holy Bible and the Seven Sacraments in Catholic life.
The opening day featured a session on “Youth Identity and Self-Worth” conducted by Sir Taseng K. Marak, Parish General Secretary. The programme also included Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Bartholomew Marak, Parish Priest, the Rosary, and an introduction to the camp by Rev. Fr. Justin SDB, Youth Director.
On the second day, Rev. Fr. Cherak M. Sangma SDB, Assistant Director of Joropara, conducted sessions on the Sacraments and the Holy Eucharist. Sir Hyacintas K. Marak, Vice President and Parish Council member, also animated a session on the importance of the Sacraments in Christian life. The day featured prayer, games, film activities, and a variety show in which the youth presented skits, songs, and dances highlighting the Seven Sacraments.
The three-day camp provided the young people with an enriching opportunity to strengthen their faith, deepen their understanding of the Word of God, and appreciate the role of the Sacraments in their Christian journey. It also fostered unity, leadership, and fellowship, encouraging the participants to become committed disciples of Christ and responsible members of the Church and society.
The camp concluded with the inspiring words of Psalm 119:105: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
