The 7th Annual Youth Convention of Holy Family Parish, Rongjeng, held from 17th to 19th April 2026, concluded on a spiritually uplifting note with the solemn Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Pojit Marak, SDB, Rector of Holy Family Parish, Rongjeng, and concelebrated by the priests serving in the parish.
The three-day convention witnessed the enthusiastic participation of a large number of youth from various villages and outstations of the parish. The gathering served as a vibrant platform for spiritual renewal, fellowship, and faith formation, drawing young people closer to Christ and to one another.
In his homily, Fr. Pojit Marak warmly welcomed the youth and encouraged them to strive constantly to do the will of God in their daily lives. He urged them to offer themselves generously to God for their own sanctification and growth in holiness. Drawing inspiration from the Gospel account of the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, he invited the young people to walk with Jesus, to listen attentively to His Word, and to become one with Him. “Like the disciples, allow your hearts to burn within you as you encounter Christ,” he said, emphasizing the importance of a personal relationship with Jesus.
Throughout the convention, the youth were engaged in a variety of spiritually enriching activities, including prayer sessions, adoration, group discussions, input sessions, and cultural programmes. These activities provided them with opportunities to reflect on their faith, share their experiences, and deepen their understanding of Christian values.
The convention also highlighted the role of young people as active members of the Church. They were encouraged to be witnesses of Christ in their families, schools, and communities, and to take up leadership roles with responsibility and commitment. Special emphasis was given to nurturing vocations and fostering a spirit of service among the youth.
The event concluded with a renewed sense of purpose among the participants, who expressed their gratitude for the meaningful experience and their desire to live out the values they had imbibed during the convention. The parish community, along with the organizers, extended their heartfelt thanks to all those who contributed to the success of the convention, making it a memorable and grace-filled occasion.
