It was a proud and joyful moment at Don Bosco Vocational Institute, Amguri, as 62 young men and women successfully completed their vocational training in Tailoring and Driving and received their certificates on Sunday, 4 October 2026. The Amguri centre is a sub-centre of Don Bosco Institute (DBI), Kharghuli.
Rev. Fr. Cletus Sebastian, SDB, Executive Director of Don Bosco Institute, was the Chief Guest at the graduation ceremony. Addressing the graduating youths, he congratulated them on their achievement and encouraged them to make good use of the skills they had acquired as they embarked on their professional journey.
“Our sub-centre at Amguri continues to give wings to the youths of this region,” Fr. Cletus said. Appreciating the dedicated work of the staff, he added, “Thanks to our staff over there who are doing marvellous work in providing skills to unemployed youths under the guidance of DBI.”
Fr. Cletus highlighted that the three-month vocational training programme at Amguri has achieved 100 per cent placement for the graduating students, making it a significant contribution towards empowering young people with employable skills and creating avenues for sustainable livelihoods.
He expressed particular appreciation for Mr Francis Charmako, Centre In-charge, for his commitment to the training programme and for his efforts in ensuring suitable placements for the graduates.
The graduation ceremony marked not merely the completion of a training programme but also the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of the 62 graduates. Equipped with practical skills and employment opportunities, the young people were encouraged to move forward with confidence, responsibility and determination. Through its vocational training initiatives, Don Bosco Institute continues its mission of empowering young people, particularly those seeking opportunities for employment and self-reliance, by equipping them with relevant skills for the world of work.
