Rev. Fr. Raphael Bejarano SDB, General Councillor for Youth Ministry, visited Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU), Tapesia Garden, on 02 March 2026 and expressed deep appreciation for the campus and its vibrant educational mission in the Northeast.
Fr. Raphael was welcomed by Rev. Fr. Jose Palely SDB, the Vice Chancellor of the University, along with Rev. Fr. James Chacko SDB, Assistant Registrar of ADBU, and members of the university staff. The cordial reception reflected the spirit of Salesian fraternity and collaboration that animates the institution.
During his visit, Fr. Raphael toured the campus facilities and interacted with members of the teaching and administrative staff, as well as with students. He was visibly impressed by the infrastructure, academic environment, and the holistic approach to higher education adopted by the University. He expressed awe at the thoughtful planning and development of the campus, acknowledging the dedication and vision that have shaped ADBU into a center of excellence.
In his interactions, the Councillor highlighted the importance of higher education in empowering young people, particularly in the Northeast region. He commended the University for its commitment to offering quality education while remaining rooted in Salesian values and youth-centered pastoral care. He noted with satisfaction how the institution effectively caters to the aspirations of the youth, preparing them not only academically but also morally and socially.
Fr. Raphael complimented the Vice Chancellor and the Salesian community for their tireless efforts in building and sustaining the University. He also appreciated the collaborative spirit between the Salesians and the lay staff, emphasizing that such partnership is essential for advancing the mission of the Congregation in the field of higher education.
Concluding his visit, Fr. Raphael conveyed his best wishes to the University community and expressed hope that Assam Don Bosco University would continue to grow from strength to strength, striving always for the integral development and well-being of the young people of the Northeast.
