On 13 April 2025 the Sacred Heart Church of Shallang marked Palm Sunday with a solemn and prayerful procession as the faithful, holding palm leaves, walked together singing hymns in remembrance of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem.
The Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Marcus Lakra SDB, Parish Priest of Shallang, in the presence of Rev. Fr. Alfred Marzo SDB, Director of the Centre, and Rev. Fr. Hubert Marak SDB, Assistant Parish Priest. A large number of faithful participated in the deeply spiritual celebration.
In his homily, Fr. Marcus reminded the congregation that by accompanying Jesus into Jerusalem, they were entering into His passion, death, and more importantly, His resurrection. “By His death, we are redeemed through His precious blood,” he said. He encouraged all to actively participate in the Holy Week liturgies to receive God’s abundant blessings.
