A friendly basketball match between Don Bosco Institute (DBI), Kharghuli, and the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) was held on 22nd March 2025 at the DBI basketball field. The exciting match saw USTM emerge victorious with a score of 58 baskets, narrowly defeating DBI, who netted 56.
Rev. Fr. Cletus Sebastian, SDB, Executive Director of DBI, addressed the audience during the inaugural session, emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship. He said, “In any match, there will always be winners and losers, but what is crucial is the team spirit and the sportsmanship built through such games.” Fr. Cletus also expressed gratitude to the USTM students for their enthusiastic participation and for making the event a memorable one.
The match attracted a large crowd of spectators, who cheered for both teams, creating an electric atmosphere. Despite the close scoreline, the spirit of the game prevailed, showcasing the strong bond between the two teams.
