St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kumarikata on Saturday 29th November 2025 witnessed a day filled with joy, gratitude, and heartfelt celebration as the parish community gathered to honour Rev. Fr. Nicodim Aind SDB, Rev. Fr. P. A. Peter SDB, Sr. Noel SMI, and Br. Alfred Stephan MOP on the occasion of their Silver Jubilee of Religious Profession.
The celebration began with a grand traditional welcome, as the jubilarians were escorted from the main road by vibrant cultural dances and melodious songs performed by local groups, expressing the community’s love and admiration for their 25 years of dedicated service to God and the Church.
The solemn Holy Eucharist was presided over by Fr. P. A. Peter, while the homily was meaningfully delivered by Fr. Nicodim Aind, who reflected on God’s unwavering faithfulness throughout their vocational journey. The Mass saw the participation of over 22 concelebrating priests, adding to the solemnity of the occasion.
The event was graced by Rev. Fr. Sebastian Mathew SDB, Provincial of Guwahati Province (ING), along with many priests, religious brothers and sisters, benefactors, friends, and a large number of faithful who came to pray for and celebrate with the jubilarians.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, a Felicitation-cum-Cultural Programme was held, during which various groups showcased songs, dances, and words of appreciation. The performances highlighted the impact the jubilarians have had on the Church and the community through their years of generous service.
The joyous day concluded with a fellowship meal for all attendees, fostering a spirit of unity, gratitude, and celebration among the faithful.
The Silver Jubilee celebration at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kumarikata, will remain a memorable moment of thanksgiving for the gift of religious vocation and the unwavering service of the jubilarians to the mission of Christ and His Church.
