Fr. P.D. John Elected as CRI President of Guwahati Region

Fr. P.D. John SDB, Rector and Executive Director of Don Bosco Institute, Kharghuli was elected as CRI President of Guwahati Region and Sr. Catherine Kanampuzha FMA, Superior of Holy Child Convent was elected Secretary in the annual general body meeting held on 29th February 2020 at St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral Parish Hall, Panbazar.

Guwahati Region of CRI consists of the entire Archdiocese of Guwahati which is sub-divided into 4 zones – Guwahati, Goalpara, Nagaon and Kumarikatta. Guwahati region has 75 different religious congregations rendering their service, out of which 27 belongs to men congregations and 48 to womencongregations. Out of the 76 presences of various men congregations, 16 of them are belonging to the SDB’s and out of the 116 presences of women congregations, MSMHC’s have 14 centres and FMA’s have 9 centres. Thus, the religious are rendering their services in 192 centres within the Archdiocese of Guwahati.
