    The primary section of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Haflong, witnessed a significant and inspirational event on Monday September 1, 2025<\/strong>\u00a0as the newly installed \u2018Dream Statues\u2019 were blessed and inaugurated in a solemn yet joyful ceremony. The statues, depicting a pivotal moment in the life of St. John Bosco, were inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim SDB, Vice Provincial. The event was attended by Rev. Fr. Albert D. Sangma SDB, Rector and Parish Priest; Rev. Fr. Xavier Beck SDB, Principal; Rev. Fr. Cornelius Myrthong SDB, Vice Principal; the Head Catechist, teachers, and the entire student body of the primary section.<\/h3>\n

    The ceremony began with a welcome address by Principal Rev. Fr. Xavier Beck SDB, who expressed his gratitude to the Vice Provincial for his presence and underscored the importance of the new installation for the school\u2019s young students.<\/p>\n

    The focal point of the event was the blessing of the statues by Fr. Mukhim, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Salesian priests, officially unveiling the new monuments to the school community.<\/p>\n

    In a deeply engaging talk, Vice Provincial Fr. Mukhim connected the past to the present, explaining the profound significance of the dreams of a young Johny Bosco. He recounted the famous dream at the age of nine, which in 2024 marked its bicentennial celebration, where a majestic figure revealed Bosco\u2019s life mission, instructing him, \u201cYou will win them not with blows but with loving kindness.\u201d<\/p>\n

    \u201cThis dream,\u201d Fr. Mukhim explained, \u201cresonated in young Johny Bosco and set him on a path to work for poor and abandoned youth. He had a dream and was able to fulfill his mission, a mission that continues to this very day.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Turning his attention to the young audience, Fr. Mukhim posed a powerful question: \u201cDo you have a dream?\u201d He challenged the students to look beyond ordinary aspirations, invoking the words of former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam: \u201cNot the dream that you have when you sleep, but the dream that will not allow you to sleep.\u201d<\/p>\n

    He urged every student to nurture a passionate vision for their own future and for the betterment of society, encouraging them to build upon their talents and aspirations for a brighter tomorrow.<\/p>\n

    The inaugural event was beautifully complemented by a cultural presentation from the students. They performed a graceful dance dramatizing the dream of Don Bosco and filled the air with a heartfelt rendition of the hymn, \u201cWe Thank You O Lord for Don Bosco.\u201d<\/p>\n

    The installation of the Dream Statues is expected to serve as a permanent visual reminder for all students at the primary section to dream big and pursue their goals with kindness and determination, embodying the enduring educational philosophy of St. John Bosco.<\/p>\n
