The Province remembered its deceased Salesian confreres with a solemn celebration of the Holy Eucharist at Barpeta Road on Thursday, November 5. The Holy Mass was celebrated at 6:00 p.m. to honour the memory of the Salesians who had dedicated their lives to the service of God, the Church and the young. The Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev Fr Jonas Toppo SDB Rector and Parish Priest of Barpeta Road.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In his homily, Rev. Fr Jonas Toppo, SDB reminded the faithful of the reality of death and the importance of preparing oneself to meet the Redeemer. He emphasized that earthly life is temporary and called upon everyone to live with faith, hope and a sense of responsibility, keeping in mind the eternal life promised by God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also urged the faithful to pray for the deceased Salesians and all those who had passed away, as well as for their family members, that the departed may receive the gift of eternal life and that their loved ones may find comfort and strength in the Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The celebration was an occasion to express gratitude for the lives, sacrifices and missionary contributions of the deceased Salesian confreres, whose dedication and commitment continue to inspire the Salesian mission in the Province. Their legacy of service, particularly among the young and the poor, remains a lasting testimony to their faith and vocation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
