A significant meeting on Mission Poverty Eradication (MPE)<\/strong> was held in Delhi on 9 September 2026 in the presence of Rev. Fr. Fabio Attard, Rector Major<\/strong>, and Rev. Fr. Biju Michael SDB, Regional Superior for South Asia<\/strong>. The gathering brought together Salesian leaders and representatives to reflect on the progress, achievements, challenges and future directions of the Mission Poverty Eradication initiative.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The meeting served as an important platform for sharing experiences and strengthening the collective commitment to addressing poverty and promoting the integral development of poor and marginalized communities. Discussions focused on the impact of ongoing initiatives, the challenges encountered in the mission and the need for sustainable and empowering approaches to poverty eradication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A significant moment of the gathering was the official release of the Mission Poverty Eradication Magazine of the Salesian Province of Mary Help of Christians, Guwahati, by Rev. Fr. Fabio Attard, Rector Major. The magazine was released in the presence of Rev. Fr. Biju Michael SDB, Regional Superior for South Asia; Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal SDB, Provincial of Guwahati; Rev. Fr. Ignatius Gari SDB, Coordinator of Mission Poverty Eradication (MPE), Guwahati Province, and other participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The magazine documents the vision, activities, experiences and impact of the Mission Poverty Eradication initiatives undertaken by the Guwahati Province. It highlights the Province’s efforts to reach out to poor and marginalized communities, particularly by promoting dignity, empowerment, sustainable development and opportunities for a better future. The release of the magazine in the presence of the Rector Major and the Regional Superior was a significant recognition of the Province’s ongoing commitment to the mission of serving those on the margins of society. It also provided an opportunity to share the experiences and fruits of the mission with the wider Salesian community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
