The celebration was held on the theme “Called to be Light.”

The programme was graced by the special presence of Rev. Fr. Romanius Barwa SDB, who addressed the youth and reflected deeply on their vocation and responsibility as youth. Drawing inspiration from the lives of Abraham, Moses and Jeremiah, he reminded the youth that God continues to call every young person for a purpose.

Fr. Romanius encouraged the youth to respond generously to God’s call by stepping out of their comfort zones. He urged them not to run away from difficulties and challenges, but to face them with courage and faith. Referring to the experience of Jeremiah, he reminded the youth that fear and uncertainty should not prevent them from responding to God’s invitation.

He further encouraged them to listen attentively to God’s voice, especially in the silence and struggles of everyday life. Reflecting on the story of Peter walking on the water, he challenged the youth to take courageous risks in faith. Just as Peter stepped out of the boat and walked towards Jesus, young people too must be willing to leave behind their fears and take bold steps in responding to God’s call. At the same time, he reminded them to keep their eyes fixed on Jesus, because losing focus on Him can cause them to become overwhelmed by the “waters” of problems, difficulties and uncertainties.

In a motivational session on leadership and daring in the face of life’s challenges, Fr. Romanius called upon the youth to become courageous leaders who are ready to take responsibility and make a positive difference in society. He stressed that leadership is not merely about holding positions, but about having the courage to serve, inspire others and stand for what is right. He encouraged the young people to develop confidence, perseverance, discipline and a spirit of service.

He also challenged the youth to see themselves as builders of the nation and society, offering their talents, time and energy for the common good. Rather than being passive observers of social change, they were encouraged to become responsible citizens who contribute towards creating a more just, peaceful and compassionate society.

The spiritual and motivational sessions were complemented by outdoor activities and games, which brought great energy and excitement to the celebration. The activities provided the youth with opportunities to interact, build friendships, develop teamwork and enjoy a spirit of healthy competition. The entire programme was coordinated and arranged under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Anugrah Tete SDB, Rector and Parish Priest, along with Rev. Fr. Paul Minj SDB, Principal and Rev. Fr. Hopna Tudu SDB, Assistant Parish Priest. Their collaborative efforts ensured that the Youth Day celebration became a meaningful occasion for the young people of Dimakuchi.

News
