Holy Family Higher Secondary School, Rongjeng, celebrated India\u2019s 80th<\/sup> Independence Day on 15 August 2026 with great enthusiasm, patriotic spirit and a strong sense of national pride. The celebration included a flag-hoisting ceremony at the school, followed by participation in the Independence Day programme at Milawe UP School, Rongjeng.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The flag-hoisting ceremony was held at 7:00 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Pojit D. Marak, Principal and Rector, hoisting the National Flag. The programme was compered by Sengkambirth G. Momin, while Gritosa G. Momin delivered the Independence Day speech. Fathers, Sisters, teachers and the boys\u2019 and girls\u2019 hostellers were present for the celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later, the students participated in the main programme at Milawe UP School, where Arbinstone B. Marak, MLA of Selsella Constituency, was the Chief Guest. Five schools took part in the March Past competition. Holy Family Higher Secondary School presented a smart contingent of 60 students accompanied by four teachers. Another group of 30 students participated in the singing of the National Anthem. The school secured third position in the March Past competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme also featured around ten cultural performances, adding colour and joy to the celebration. The participation of the students showcased their discipline, coordination, confidence and team spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
