A significant milestone in the history of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Tura, was marked with the blessing of the foundation stone for a new Multi-Purpose Auditorium and additional classrooms on August 1, 2026. The foundation stone was blessed by Rt. Rev. Andrew R. Marak, D.D., Bishop of Tura<\/strong>, while the foundation was ceremonially laid by Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal, SDB, Provincial<\/strong>.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The solemn ceremony was attended by a large gathering of Salesian confreres, who joined in prayer and thanksgiving for the commencement of the long-awaited project. The new facility is expected to enhance the educational, cultural, and pastoral activities of the institution while addressing the growing need for additional infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Welcoming the Bishop, the Provincial, and the assembled confreres, Rev. Fr. Threnius N. Sangma, SDB, Rector and Principal of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Tura, expressed his joy and gratitude on the occasion. He described the construction of the Multi-Purpose Auditorium and additional classrooms as the realization of a long-cherished dream of the school community. Fr. Sangma thanked the Provincial and the Salesian Province for their generous support and commitment towards strengthening the institution’s educational mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his address, Rt. Rev. Andrew R. Marak invoked God’s blessings upon the project, praying that the new building would become a centre of learning, character formation, and holistic development for generations of young people. He appreciated the dedicated service of the Salesians in the Diocese of Tura and encouraged them to continue nurturing young minds with the values of faith, education, and service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal, SDB, speaking on the occasion, emphasized the importance of investing in educational infrastructure that responds to the evolving needs of students. He noted that the new auditorium would serve not only as a venue for academic and cultural programmes but also as a space for community gatherings, leadership formation, and youth development. He encouraged the school community to continue the Salesian mission of educating young people with competence, compassion, and commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony concluded with a prayer of thanksgiving and the blessing of the site, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the growth of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Tura. Once completed, the Multi-Purpose Auditorium and additional classrooms will significantly enhance the school’s capacity to provide quality education and holistic formation in the spirit of St. John Bosco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
