The inaugural programme featured the traditional lighting of the lamp and was officially inaugurated by Fr. P. A. Peter SDB, Parish Priest of Doomni Parish.

Delivering the inaugural session on Leadership, Sir Augustus Tigga encouraged the young participants to become responsible, honest, and service-oriented leaders. He reminded them that genuine leadership is founded on integrity, vision, and selfless service to society. The second session, on the Importance of Education, was led by Dr. Anil Kujur, who motivated the youth to pursue quality education, develop their talents, and prepare themselves for a brighter future. He emphasized that education remains the key to personal growth and social transformation. The opening day also featured interactive group activities that fostered teamwork, friendship, and collaboration before concluding with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

The second day focused on raising awareness about important social and personal issues affecting young people. Advocate Tridip Sarma of the Baksa District Court conducted an informative session on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, explaining the legal provisions, children’s rights, and the shared responsibility of safeguarding minors from abuse and exploitation.

This was followed by a session on Addiction and Health by Dr. Dulob Pathak, Sub-Divisional Health Officer, Mushalpur, who highlighted the harmful effects of alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and other addictive substances while encouraging participants to adopt healthy lifestyles and make responsible life choices. The final session of the day, on Career Guidance and Job Placement, was presented by Fr. Ignatius Gari SDB, who guided the youth on higher education opportunities, skill development, career planning, and employment prospects, inspiring them to prepare confidently for their future.

The final day of the camp centred on spiritual growth and Christian formation. Sr. Rosalia Baghwar, MHMHC, animated a session on the Importance of Religion and the Holiness of Young People, encouraging participants to deepen their relationship with God, cultivate Christian values, and strive for holiness by following the example of Jesus Christ and St. John Bosco.

The camp concluded with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Fr. Robert Basumatary SDB. In his homily, Fr. Wilson Topno SDB, Youth Director, reflected on the theme “In the Hands of the Divine Potter.” Drawing inspiration from the image of the potter and the clay, he reminded the young people that God lovingly shapes every person according to His divine plan. Just as a potter patiently reshapes clay when it becomes spoiled, God never abandons those who place their trust in Him but continually moulds them into better persons. He encouraged the youth to surrender their lives to God’s will, echoing the prayer of Jesus: “Not my will, but yours be done.”

Following the Eucharistic celebration, participants presented a vibrant cultural programme featuring songs, dances, and other performances that reflected the rich cultural diversity and talents of the participating villages. The camp formally concluded with the lowering of the STYM flag, which was respectfully handed over to Fr. P. A. Peter SDB, symbolizing the successful completion of the Summer Time Youth Camp 2026.

<figure class="wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1
