The Provincial House community came together on 26 July to celebrate the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly<\/strong> by honouring the octogenarian confreres residing in the Provincial House. The celebration, held on the Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, patrons of grandparents and the elderly, was marked by gratitude, fraternity, and appreciation for the lifelong service of the senior Salesians.

The community felicitated Rev. Fr. Cornelius Panna SDB, Rev. Fr. Francis Cheeramben SDB, and Rev. Fr. Paul Kuttikadan SDB in the presence of the confreres of the Provincial House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal SDB, Provincial, congratulated the three senior confreres and expressed the gratitude of the Province for their many years of dedicated ministry. He remarked that the presence of elderly confreres in the community is a source of inspiration and encouragement for the younger generation of Salesians. Thanking them for their invaluable service to the community and the Province, he honoured each of them with a traditional Bodo Aronai<\/em> as a symbol of respect and affection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on the occasion, Rev. Fr. Charles Deepen Lakra SDB, Rector of the Provincial House and Provincial Secretary, said that the presence of the three elderly confreres brings joy and warmth to the community. He appreciated their readiness to assist in chaplaincy ministry whenever called upon and thanked them for their continued witness of Salesian fraternity and dedication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, the three senior confreres expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Provincial and the entire community for the love, care, and concern they experience each day at the Provincial House. They acknowledged the fraternity and support extended by every confrere, making their senior years meaningful and joyful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a further gesture of appreciation, Rev. Fr. Michael Kindo SDB, Administrator of the Provincial House, presented each of the octogenarians with a gift on behalf of the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
