The Summer Time Youth Ministry (STYM) cum 4th Annual Youth Sabha was successfully organized at Kokrajhar from 24 to 26 July 2026<\/strong>, bringing together more than 140 young participants<\/strong> from different villages for three days of prayer, faith formation, fellowship, leadership training, and joyful celebration.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The camp commenced on 24 July with an Adoration Service led by Fr. Vivek Lakra, who guided the participants into a profound experience of prayer and reflection. During the adoration, the young people were also given the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, preparing themselves spiritually for the days ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inaugural ceremony of the STYM cum 4th<\/sup> Annual Youth Sabha followed, with Fr. Vivek Lakra serving as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by Fr. Francis Basumatary, Parish Priest, Fr. K.O. Augustine, Assistant Parish Priest, members of the Parish Council, the President of the Parish Women’s Council, and other distinguished guests. A special highlight of the inauguration was the felicitation of the parish’s Class X students, who were honoured with gifts in recognition of their outstanding performance in the HSLC examinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second day began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Fr. Francis Basumatary, who encouraged the youth to keep Christ at the centre of their lives. Following the Mass, Fr. Emmanuel Marngar, Principal of Don Bosco School, Kokrajhar, solemnly hoisted the Young Catholic Christian Association (YCCA) Flag, officially inaugurating the day’s activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The youth participated in a variety of enriching sessions animated by the Salesian brothers, including interactive discussions, group activities, leadership exercises, choreography, and team-building programmes that promoted unity, responsibility, and Christian values. The afternoon featured Bible-based activities and games, enabling participants to deepen their understanding of Sacred Scripture while strengthening bonds of friendship and cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A major attraction of the evening was an inspiring session by Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim SDB, Vice Provincial, on the Responsible Use of Social Media. He challenged the young people to use digital platforms wisely, responsibly, and in ways that reflect Christian values and respect for others. The educational session was followed by colourful village-wise dance and singing competitions, where participants enthusiastically displayed their talents. The winners were honoured during the prize distribution ceremony, while every participant received appreciation for their active involvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The camp concluded on 26 July with the celebration of the Concluding Holy Eucharist, presided over by Fr. Francis Basumatary. In his homily, he reminded the participants that the true purpose of the camp extended far beyond the three days they had spent together. He urged them to return to their villages as authentic witnesses of Christ by remaining steadfast in prayer, actively participating in the life of the Church, and becoming responsible leaders who inspire other young people through faith, service, and exemplary Christian living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the Eucharistic celebration, the lowering of the YCCA flag marked the formal conclusion of the Summer Time Youth Ministry Camp 2026. Before the participants departed, Fr. Francis Basumatary expressed his sincere gratitude to all the priests, brothers, organizers, volunteers, animators, benefactors, and participants whose dedication ensured the success of the programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
