\u201cDon Bosco School, Satgaon is a great asset to Satgaon, to Karbi Anglong, the state of Assam, the whole country and the Salesian Society.\u201d These were the words of Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim, Vice Provincial of the Salesian Province of Guwahati, while addressing the students of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Satgaon, during his visit to the institution on Wednesday, 24 June 2026.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Explaining the meaning of the word asset, Fr. Mukhim said that an asset is something valuable, useful, and beneficial to people. He noted with satisfaction that Don Bosco School, Satgaon has become a source of pride and a blessing for the people of the region. \u201cThe institution has touched and transformed many lives\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fr. Mukhim encouraged them to become assets to their families and society. He urged them to strive to be a source of joy and pride for their parents, villages, and communities and not a liability. \u201cYour parents should be proud of you. Never become a burden to them but be a blessing through your hard work and sincerity of effort while also paying attention to your character formation,\u201d he said. He concluded by wishing the students success in their ongoing examinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, in his welcome address, Fr. Albert Thyrniang, Principal of the school and Parish Priest of Satgaon, congratulated Fr. Vice Provincial for having submitted his doctoral thesis and presented him to the students as an example of academic excellence. Highlighting before the dignitary the rich cultural diversity of the institution, he informed that the staff and students represent a harmonious blend of various communities, including the Garo, Karbi, Dimasa, Tiwa, Boro, Nepali, Bengali, and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Referring to the recent visits of the Provincial and the Provincial Economer to the centre, Fr. Thyrniang said that the visits of the leaders of the Salesian Society was a special blessing from God and a sign of Don Bosco\u2019s presence in Satgaon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fr. Mukhim, who arrived at Satgaon the previous evening, also presided over the morning Eucharistic celebration. In his homily, he presented St. John the Baptist as a model of faith, humility, and simplicity, encouraging the faithful to emulate his example in their daily Christian life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
