Rev Fr Sanjay Aind, SDB, successfully defended his Licentiate Thesis at the Faculty of Institutional Social Communication of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross (Pontificia Universit\u00e0 della Santa Croce), Rome, on 15 June 2026.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The thesis, entitled \u201cCommunicating Hope: A Case Study on Fr. Stan Swamy\u2019s \u2018Bagaicha Model\u2019 of Strategic Communications,\u201d explored the life, mission, and communication strategies employed by the late Jesuit priest and tribal rights activist Fr. Stan Swamy. Through an in-depth study of the \u201cBagaicha Model,\u201d Fr. Sanjay examined how strategic communication can become a powerful instrument for promoting hope, justice, empowerment, and social transformation among marginalized communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The research was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Daniel Arasa, a professor in the field of Institutional Social Communication. During the public defense held at the university campus in Rome, Fr. Sanjay presented the key findings of his research before an academic panel and successfully responded to questions and observations from the examiners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His study highlighted the relevance of communication that is rooted in dialogue, participation, advocacy, and community engagement. Drawing insights from Fr. Stan Swamy\u2019s lifelong commitment to the rights and dignity of indigenous peoples, the thesis proposed communication models that foster social awareness, solidarity, and hope in contemporary society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members of the Salesian Family, friends, and well-wishers congratulated Fr. Sanjay on this noteworthy achievement and wished him God\u2019s blessings as he continues his ministry in the service of the young and the marginalized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Province joins in celebrating this accomplishment and expresses gratitude to the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, the Faculty of Institutional Social Communication, and all those who accompanied Fr. Sanjay during his academic journey in Rome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
