The celebrations were further strengthened by the contribution of <strong>100 saplings<\/strong> from the <strong>Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC)<\/strong> under its <em>\u201cEk Ped Maa Ke Naam\u201d<\/em> initiative.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A special plantation programme was organised at Snehalaya, Paltan Bazar, with Ms. Ratna Singh Bharadwaj, Ward Councillor of Ward No. 31 and former Principal of Assam Rifles Public School, Shillong, and Cambridge High School, Guwahati, as the chief guest. The event was attended by children from the Solapara and Gandhibasti Child Friendly Guwahati Centres. Addressing the children, Ms. Bharadwaj encouraged them to plant and nurture trees and emphasised that maintaining cleanliness is a shared responsibility of every citizen. She inspired the young participants to contribute towards building a better Assam and India through responsible action and innovative thinking. Her address concluded with the slogan, \u201cSwachh Bharat, Green Bharat,\u201d which was enthusiastically echoed by the children. The programme was coordinated by Ms. Jyotirmoyee Bhuyan, Programme Manager of the Child Friendly Guwahati Project under Snehalaya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the celebrations, children from the Paschim Boragaon and Kalapani Child Friendly Guwahati Centres participated in an environmental awareness rally from the Botanical Garden to nearby localities, spreading messages on environmental conservation and community responsibility. Organised in collaboration with the Evangelical Social Action Forum (ESAF Foundation), the programme also featured a \u201cBest Out of Waste\u201d workshop conducted by Ms. Munu Nath, who encouraged the children to creatively reuse discarded materials and adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Later in the day, children from the Noapara, Borbari, Baghorbari, and Panjabari Child Friendly Guwahati Centres visited Udayan Park, Panjabari, where they took part in a cleanliness drive and tree plantation programme.
