The Salesian parish of Maligaon brought the month of May to a fitting close with a candlelit Marian procession on 31 May 2026, marking the end of a month dedicated to Our Lady. Throughout May, families in the parish gathered to pray the rosary at home, keeping alive a cherished tradition of Marian devotion during this special month.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The procession began at St Mary\u2019s Convent and wound through the compound before ending at the Grotto near the parish church. Before the procession set out, Fr Barnabas Mardi, the parish priest, addressed the gathering, emphasising the importance of praying the rosary and expressing appreciation for the devotion with which the parishioners embrace this practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With hymns and prayers rising into the evening air, the candlelit procession was marked by a spirit of fervour and recollection. The faithful recited the rosary as they walked, their candles lending the occasion solemnity and warmth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Grotto, after singing the litany, the procession drew to a close with the proclamation of the account of the Visitation from the Gospel of St Luke. Reflecting on the passage, Fr Barnabas invited the faithful to draw inspiration from Our Lady\u2019s example \u2014 her readiness to go out to others and to serve those in need. His words offered a timely reminder that true Marian devotion finds expression not only in prayer but also in charity and service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The evening concluded with a blessing, and refreshments were served to all who had participated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
