The youth of Satgaon Parish joyfully celebrated the anticipated Feast of St. Dominic Savio on Sunday, 3 May 2026, with great enthusiasm and devotion. More than 100 young people and children gathered in the parish auditorium to honor the youthful saint of Don Bosco\u2019s Oratory, who was canonized on 12 June 1954. The celebration marked a special occasion for the parish youth as they commemorated the life and example of the 15-year-old saint.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Fr. Peter A. Sangma, Assistant Parish Priest of Sojong Parish, animated the participants and was the main celebrant of the solemn Eucharistic celebration. In his talk, Fr. Peter highlighted the extraordinary sanctity of St. Dominic Savio, particularly focusing on the promises Dominic made at the age of seven during his First Holy Communion: to go frequently to Confession and Communion, to sanctify Sundays and holy days, to be a faithful friend of Jesus and Mary, and to choose death rather than sin. He further encouraged the youth by emphasizing Dominic Savio\u2019s firm resolve: \u201cI want to become a saint.\u201d<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Eucharistic celebration was marked by lively singing and active participation from the young devotees. Fr. Daniel concelebrated the Mass, while Deacon Arpan Ekka assisted at the altar. Drawing from the First Reading, which recounted how the Apostles resolved dissension among the early Christians, the preacher urged the youth to become peacemakers like Dominic Savio, recalling how the young saint once reconciled two boys who had fixed for a fight. Reflecting on the Gospel, the homilist also presented Dominic Savio as a model of one who embraced Jesus as \u201cthe Way, the Truth, and the Life.\u201d<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The theme for the celebration was \u201cDeath Rather Than Sin,\u201d with the objective of fostering unity while celebrating the talents of the parish youth.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Following the Holy Mass, an impressive dance competition was held, with participants from 28 villages showcasing remarkable talent and cultural vibrancy. After a spirited competition, Centre Bithung Village emerged as the winner, while Langphangki secured third place.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In his message, before the distribution of the prizes, Fr. Albert Thyrniang, Parish Priest, expressed sincere gratitude to Fr. Peter A. Sangma for his talk on Dominic Savio and for celebrating the Eucharist. He also warmly appreciated Fr. Daniel Sangma, Assistant Parish Priest and Youth Director, for excellently organizing the event, along with the leaders of SYM and ICYM for their dedicated support in ensuring the day\u2019s success. In anticipation he congratulated the winners and acknowledged all the participants before invoking God\u2019s blessings upon all through the intercession of St. Dominic Savio.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
