On April 30, 2026, St. Francis Xavier Higher Secondary School, Dotma, marked the inauguration of the new scholastic year 2026\u20132027 with a solemn and inspiring programme, coupled with a felicitation ceremony for its Higher Secondary students. The event brought together students, staff, and distinguished guests in a spirit of celebration and renewed commitment to academic excellence.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Rev. Fr. Jimmy T. Sangma, SDB, Principal of Don Bosco School, Bengtol, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, Fr. Jimmy emphasized the importance of beginning the academic year with clarity of purpose, discipline, and determination. He urged students to avoid procrastination and instead cultivate consistent study habits from the very first day. \u201cA good beginning,\u201d he remarked, \u201csets the tone for the entire year. If you start well, with focus, prayer, and commitment you will not have to regret at the end of the scholastic year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expanding on this thought, Fr. Jimmy highlighted the value of time management, encouraging students to create realistic study schedules and balance academics with co-curricular activities. He also stressed the importance of character formation, reminding students that education is not merely about securing marks but about becoming responsible, value-driven individuals. Drawing from his experience as an educator, he advised students to remain attentive in class, seek guidance when in doubt, and maintain a positive attitude even in the face of challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the Higher Secondary students who were felicitated, Fr. Jimmy congratulated them for their hard work and achievements. He encouraged them to aim higher, remain humble in success, and continue striving for excellence. \u201cYour achievements today are stepping stones for greater accomplishments tomorrow,\u201d he said, motivating them to become role models for their juniors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rev. Fr. Sebastian Edathumparampil, SDB, Rector and Parish Priest of Dotma, was also present on the occasion.
