The Sacred Heart Parish in Shallang was a picture of joy and reverence on 07 April 2026 as the community came together to celebrate a historic triple milestone in the life of Rev. Fr. Alfred Marzo. The entire celebration was a living expression of the spirit, “To preach the Gospel to the Poor.”<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The beloved priest was honoured for his 91st birthday, the Platinum Jubilee (75 years) of his Religious Profession, and his 27 years of dedicated work within the Shallang parish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a special ceremony which included the Holy Mass and a felicitation programme, the parishioners, Salesians, clergy, and local dignitaries gathered to express their gratitude for Fr. Alfred’s decades of spiritual guidance and community service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The highlight of the celebration was the recognition of his Platinum Jubilee of Religious Profession\u2014a rare and momentous achievement symbolizing 75 years of unwavering commitment to faith and service. The congregation offered their “Heartiest Congratulations” to Rev. Fr. Alfred Marzo on this milestone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the event, Fr. Marzo said, “This is not a celebration; it is a moment to thank God for the blessings that He has given me and for the good health I enjoy.” He recalled the difficulties he had encountered and yet counted them as blessings. The parish community members reflected on Fr. Alfred Marzo’s profound impact over the last 27 years in Shallang, praising his tireless dedication to the parish. His 91st birthday added to the festive atmosphere, making the day a remarkable triple celebration of longevity, faith, and pastoral love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The celebrations concluded with a blessing and a community feast, as parishioners wished Rev. Fr. Alfred Marzo continued health and grace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
