Rev Fr Sebastian Kuricheal SDB, Provincial has concluded the Canonical Visitation for the 2025-2026 cycle, marking a significant milestone for the Province. The visitation officially came to a close following the Provincial\u2019s visit at the Provincial House Community in Guwahati on March 27, 2026.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The extensive visitation, which spanned ten months, starting from June 08, 2025 at Kumarikata community allowed the Provincial to meet personally with individual confreres across all houses, offering guidance and attentive listening. Beyond the communities, the visitation also provided an opportunity to engage with collaborators in the mission and apostolate, as well as the youth who are at the heart of the Province\u2019s work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his opening remarks during the concluding conference at the Provincial House, the Provincial expressed his deep satisfaction at having completed the visitations of all the houses. He commended the many communities for their thorough preparation for the canonical event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the confreres, he emphasized the critical need to strengthen community life and to foster greater animation within the communities. \u201cThe mission is entrusted to the community,\u201d he reiterated, explaining that it is through a vibrant community life that they are able to be fully available to the young people they serve in their various presences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Provincial noted a positive trend across the Province, observing that most communities are focusing their efforts on works for the poor, particularly for the most vulnerable and marginalized young people. He affirmed that catering to the needs of the youth remains the central focus of every community\u2019s work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turning his attention to the Provincial House Community, he expressed appreciation for their characteristic kindness in welcoming confreres and visitors. He praised the community\u2019s dedication to common prayer and their spirit of togetherness. He urged the members to let the spirit of fraternity, dedication, and love prevail, highlighting that \u201ca small act of kindness\u201d can make a profound difference for those who come to the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Encouraging them to lead by example, the Provincial called on the confreres of the Provincial House to strive to build an \u201cideal community\u201d that would serve as a model for all the other communities of the Province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concluding conference was held in the evening. Rev. Fr. Charles Deepen Lakra, SDB, Rector of the Provincial House Community, offered a vote of thanks. He expressed gratitude to the Provincial and the Economer for making the visitation and acknowledged their continued support and guidance to all the confreres of the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
