C. Jain, IAS, Chairman of ASSEB, speaking at the ACET Training Programme and provided an insightful and comprehensive overview of the recent educational reforms.                                                 <\/p>\n<p>                                            <\/span>\n                                                                    <\/div>\n<div class=\"color-pad\">\n<div class=\"entry-content read-details\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In a significant initiative to align educational institutions with the latest policy changes, the Assam Catholic Educational Trust (ACET) organized a training session on the theme <em>\u201cChanges in Education as Envisioned by the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB)\u201d<\/em> on 14th May 2025. The event was held at Don Bosco School, Panbazar. Several Principals of Don Bosco Schools from across the Province were also present for the training programme.<\/h3>\n<p>Dr. Anupa Lahkar Goswami, Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication and Journalism, Gauhati University, led the morning session for all participants.<\/p>\n<p>The afternoon session was conducted by Shri R. C. Jain, IAS (Retd.), Chairman of ASSEB, who provided a comprehensive and insightful overview of the recent educational reforms. His presentation focused on how these transformative changes will impact the governance and administration of schools across the state. Shri Jain elaborated on aspects of the National Education Policy (NEP) and highlighted several changes in the education system.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized that the focus should shift from being <em>mark-based<\/em> to <em>efficiency-based<\/em>, assessing whether students are employable and truly knowledgeable. He stated, \u201cOur main aim must not be mark-based, but efficiency-based \u2014 to assess whether a student is employable and knowledgeable.\u201d He noted that currently, only 12% of students are efficient or job-ready after completing their education. He further stressed the importance of students acquiring all the necessary skills to succeed in the real world.<\/p>\n<p>School leaders and educators from various institutions participated in the training. Though the program was primarily designed for schools affiliated with ASSEB, it warmly welcomed participants from other educational institutions as well.<\/p>\n<p>The event served as a platform for collaboration, dialogue, and shared learning among educators committed to advancing quality education in Assam. With the call to <em>\u201cbe part of this journey of educational renewal and innovation,\u201d<\/em> the training underscored the collective responsibility of educators in implementing and sustaining meaningful reforms.<\/p>\n<p>The Assam Catholic Educational Trust expressed its heartfelt gratitude to Shri R. C.
