Faith Fest Participants at DBI, Kharghuli.
The much-awaited Faith Fest 2025 was inaugurated at Don Bosco Institute (DBI), Kharghuli on 07 December 2025, bringing together young people from across the region for two days of spiritual animation, fellowship, and celebration. The event is organised by the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) as part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Don Bosco Institute.
The inauguration programme was presided over by Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim, SDB, Vice Provincial of the Salesian Province of Guwahati, who set the tone for the festival with a deeply inspiring message. In his address, Fr. Bivan highlighted that the Faith Fest is a meaningful component of DBI’s 25 years of service to the youth and society.
He reminded the participants that the journey of faith begins with discovering one’s true self and recognising the guiding presence of God. “Young people should discover themselves and know that God is the one controlling their lives,” he emphasized. He added that the primary aim of the Faith Fest is to help young people “develop their faith and grow in the love of God.”
Drawing inspiration from Don Bosco, he reiterated the timeless Salesian ideal: “Don Bosco wanted every young person to be good Christians and honest citizens.” Fr. Bivan stressed that a holy and value-driven young person can greatly contribute to the wellbeing of society and that today’s youth must strive to be of service both to the Church and to the world. He concluded by wishing the participants a fruitful and grace-filled experience during the Faith Fest.
Rev. Fr. John Rabha, SDB, Associate Director of DBI, warmly welcomed the gathering and expressed joy at seeing the enthusiastic participation of young people from different communities and cultures.
The entire programme has been meticulously planned under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Cletus Sebastian, SDB, Executive Director of DBI, together with Fr. John Rabha, Fr. Sachin Kujur, Sr. Athisa Agatha, Sr. Ashuli Kaini Roselyn, and the staff of Don Bosco Institute, Kharghuli.
With the theme “Celebrating Our Faith,” Faith Fest 2025 promises moments of reflection, learning, celebration, and spiritual renewal for all participants.
