Rev. Fr. Stephen Mavely SDB, a companion of Fr. EP Augustine celebrating the Holy Mass and praying for the departed soul.
On 6th March 2025, a special Holy Mass was celebrated at 7:00 AM at the Provincial House, Guwahati, to pray for the soul of Rev. Fr. EP Augustine SDB. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Rev. Fr. Stephen Mavely SDB, a close companion of Fr. Augustine. The Mass was attended by a large number of priests from neighboring communities and religious sisters from around the Provincial House.
During his homily, Fr. Stephen Mavely SDB fondly recalled Fr. Augustine’s simplicity and humility. “He was unassuming and soft-spoken, never boasting about his achievements, but quietly fulfilling his duties with great devotion,” he shared. He further emphasized Fr. Augustine’s deep love and concern for the poor and downtrodden, which made him beloved by all who knew him.
Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim SDB, Vice Provincial of Guwahati, was also present and offered prayers for the repose of Fr. EP Augustine’s soul. The solemn gathering reflected the deep respect and affection that Fr. Augustine inspired throughout his life of service.
