Three-Day Sports Festival Concluded

Umswai 29th February, 2020: Three-day Sports Festival of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Umswai concluded on 29th March 2020. The Chief Guest of the concluding ceremony, Mr. KatharsonEngti, Assistant Inspector of School of East and West Karbi Anglong, Assam and BPO of Amri Blockexhorted the students to persevere in their endeavours to achieve their goals. He told the students to identify their talents without neglecting their studies. He gave away medals to the selected winners and handed over the Marchpast Trophy to the Blue House. Yellow House was declared the Champions of 2020 edition of the annual sporting event.

Besides the ‘high speed races’, the drill display and aerobics, the cultural Tiwa and Karbi dances were highlights of the final day. While thanking the school authorities for inviting him to grace the occasion, Mr. Katharson praised the school for its improved overall performance and said, “I’m glad to see the secondedition of the school magazine and also the ‘best school library’ in Karbi Anglong.”

Sr. Monica Sangma FMA, Headmistress, expressed words of gratitude on behalf of the Principal, Rev. Fr. Albert Thyrniang and said that success was due to the teamwork of the management, staff and students.  She thanked the Parish Priest, Parents and well wishers present on the occasion.
