- 3 Salesians and a boy injured in Shillong-Guwahati highway `head-on collision`
Jan. 27. 3 Salesians and a boy were seriously injured in a horrific road accident on January 23, 2012 on the Shillong - Guwahati Highway. The WagonR in which they were travelling was involved in a head-on collision with a truck. On impact, the car went up in flames though by that time the injured were pulled out of the car. They were taken to the GNRC hospital, Guwahati and are stated to be out of danger now. The injured are Frs. James Perunneparampil, Benny Alex, Principal of Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong, Fr. Jan. 16. In the midst of thousands of faithful gathered at Mount Sinai Umden Parish, Deacon Michael Makri was ordained a priest forever by Most Rev. Dominic Jala SDB DD, Archbishop of Shillong Archdiocese on January 15, 2012. He was accompanied to the altar by his mother, Martha Pul Makri and elder brother Anthony Makri. Sohra Miracle Child is Baptised at Don Bosco ShrineAug. 17. 16 August, birthday of Don Bosco, Larisuk Khongsit has been baptised as Larisa Mary Khongsit. The baptism ceremony took place at the shrine of St. John Bosco, Cherrapunjee, where during the visit of the relic of Don Bosco, this bed-ridden girl had a miraculous healing after praying to Don Bosco. 23 young people and children from families that have been drawn to the faith through the healing of the 11 year old child also received baptism, at a ceremony presided over by His Grace Archbishop Dominic Jala SDB, of the archdiocese of Shillong.
